Tangled Garden

Tangled Garden

Acrylic on Baltic birch

5’ x 4’

As an homage to J.E.H McDonald one of the founding members of the Group Of Seven Canadian artists, I wanted to re-create the mass of colour and tangled undergrowth of his groundbreaking piece of the same name. This painting represents small sunflowers, along with the densely textured leaves and other plant forms in a country garden. Brush work on the sky and palette knife work on the rest of the painting are featured.
